Quilt Tip Thursday
In such a fast paced world around us, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle without actually enjoying the activity you have a passion for.
“Activities suggest a life filled with purpose.” – The Sound of Music
We feel like we need to constantly be moving onto the next project before this project is even unloaded from our machine.
Relax! Stitches can always be undone. Take your time. Plan ahead and give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the process.
When I first started quilting, I stressed over the perfection of stitches, the exact 1/4 inch seam allowance, and the stretch of the bias. Do you know what 6 years of quilting has taught me? Imperfections are what give the quilt its homemade character.
I have this goal to make 30 quilts by the age of 30 (which is in 2 months), I’m just halfway there. Am I going to stress over the other half of my personal goal? Probably! But I’ll reread this blog over and over and remind myself that I have a purpose in quilting and it isn’t to have perfection, but it is to share my passion.
