The Story of the Quilting Bee

The Story of the Quilting Bee

The bee hive is an amazing way of life.  Some honey bee’s actually reside inside the hive and raise their young.  Their home is lined with hexagonal cells for storing honey; as we know them: honeycomb.
The queen bee and worker bee are two among many of the jobs of a honey bee. The queen bee is responsible for laying eggs, while the worker bee (all female) is responsible for caring for the queen, guarding the bee hive, and gathering nectar. They work tirelessly to provide for their family a hive of delicious honey.
As hard as a worker bee labors over the hive, a quilter labors over a quilt. Meticulously piecing and pressing, stitching and cutting, we spend hours planning and executing a wonderful creation.  As the quilting bee, we line our home walls with beautiful quilts and our tables with astounding runners.  We quilt out of necessity and we quilt out of passion.
Here at Kea Bee, our goal is to pollinate the minds and hearts of quilters and crafters everywhere. Our hope is that with our blogs, YouTube tutorials, and our constant social media presence, we will inspire those who love to quilt and craft!
